History

With over 200 years of human service presence in Philadelphia, Catholic Social Services (CSS) of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia is a voluntary, multifunction social services agency whose purpose is to engage in, promote, supervise, and maintain an array of charitable activities.

During the last 50 years, CSS has continued to develop services such as, Immigration and Senior Centers, Family Services Centers, Community Based Services, Out-of- School Time Services, Teen Placement Programs, Developmental Programs and more.

CSS has been guided by its main mission, one that is consistent with the purpose and goals of Improving Outcomes for Children (IOC)-to transform lives and bring about a just and compassionate society.
